What we have found is there is not a “one-size fits all” transformational approach. Each company has its own unique culture, history, customers, etc. When comparing transformation tactics, what worked for one company may not exactly work for the next. The constant for the companies that successfully achieved results is the holistic approach where principles remain the same. These successful companies understand their approach evolves as the company matures.

Successful transformations are aware of this progression that we refer to as The Transformation CurveTM. And adapted their strategy along the way versus the weak or failed businesses that held the belief they could copy the exact tactics of another company and just muscle their way through it to get the same results.

In conjunction with the Win Holistic Transformation ModelTM, we know that businesses follow a predictable pattern as they are driving transformation. We call this pattern The Transformation CurveTM. During the initial assessment phase of a business, also referred to as a diagnostic, we reference The Transformation CurveTM to define the sequence of initiatives over 3-5 years that will move the organization towards the targeted sustainable high performance environment. While there are patterns found when assessing a company, we typically find areas further up the maturity path where, at the same time, other areas are in their infancy stage of maturity or non-existent.

If you have not already done so, I encourage you to read the chapter titled, The Transformation CurveTMThe Necessary Insight for Selecting the Business Transformation Approach that Maximizes Your Results featured in the book Elite Business Systems: Insider Strategies of Industry Leading Consultants.

The following Transformation Curve assessment compares attributes and behaviors within each phase of the curve to your company. The following graphic describes The Transformation CurveTM and the phases a business goes through on the way to achieving transformational performance. It is worth noting that while this graphic describes each of the four phases a business goes through to achieve sustainable transformational results at a high level, without the detailed Transformation CurveTM assessment, it is difficult to truly identify where your business is today.

By comparing your company to the four phases of The Transformational CurveTM, you may find your team is further along in one area and just beginning in another. This is a typical discovery when we assess a company to determine where and how to strategically start the transformational journey. Remember, this is a journey. It doesn’t matter where you start. The important thing is you and your teams are taking action to move towards the Transformational Phase of the curve.

The next move is yours. My hope is by taking this assessment you are energized and excited by the possibilities for your company. The good news is the possibilities are endless. The important thing to remember is that this is a journey not a 100-yard sprint. While there will be significant short-term wins, it takes persistence, resilience, and drive to achieve a truly Transformational Level environment. I wish you the best on your journey and call us if you would like our help.
